Since the opening of Machweo in 2011, we started the tradition to host a special Food & Wine tasting dinner at Machweo at the occassion of the yearly Karibu Travel Market Tanzania in Arusha.
Tonight Saturday 7 June will be the night we welcome again a fantastic audience of both expert wine makers, wine connoisseurs, tour operators and residents who like gourmet food, fine wine and nice company.
This year’s session will be in collaboration with Red ‘n White , a well established Tanzanian company, incorporated in 1993, by mostly Belgian shareholders. The company is one of our key suppliers and supplier of – among others – KWV, Spier and Swartland wines and San Pellegrino water.
Johan Jordaan, Spier senior winemaker (and Diner’s Cluw Winemaker of the year 2011) will introduce the Spier Signature Sauvignon Blanc which will match the starters.
Stephen Rautenbach and Marco Ventrella from KWV Wines in South Africa will be talking about their fantastic KWV Mentor Semillon which will match the second dishes to be served.
Pieter Terblanch, head of global sales & marketing at Swartland Winery will present the fantastic Swartland Bush Vine Pinotage to match the main dish.
