Discovering Tanzania, a project by Kempinski

After ealier openings of Kilimanjaro Hotel Kempinski in Dar Es Salaam and Zamani Zanzibar Kempinski, the owner, UAE national Mr. Ali Albwardy, will open in the heart of Tanzania’s world famous Serengeti National Park the Bilila Lodge Kempinski at the 1st of June, 2009. Ali Albwardy reveiled his plans to us at Onsea House in Arusha.

In order to open their new Bilila Lodge, the luxury hotel chain Kempinski wanted to introduce the beauty of this country to as many people as possible. And because they don’t do things by half, Kempinski decided to send out a traveller to explore the country and share the exclusive insights on a Travel Blog with stories, photos and videos about the most amazing places Tanzania has to offer. You can discover the beautiful wildlife of the Serengeti, enjoy Africa’s nature and share exclusive insights into the soon to be opened luxury Bilila Lodge Kempinski. After Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Kilimanjaro and much more, the trip continues to the vast beaches of Zanzibar.

You can bookmark and share the Discovering Tanzania Travel Blog. There is also an RSS-Feed and a newsletter for registered users.

Best South African wines on Premium Wine List

The arrival of the Villiera Monro Brut 2003, probably South Africa’s best Methode Cap Clasique and among the best bubbles in the world, marks the festive launch of the new Onsea House Premium Wine List.

Next to the premium wines from Boekenhoutskloof, their second label Porcupine Ridge and The Wolftrap, which we featured for the first time in Tanzania on a winelist, we expect a whole range of 90 and + rated wines by Wine Spectator and 4,5 to 5 stars in the John Platter South African Wine Guide 2009.

Top red blends include the 5 star Kaapzicht Steytler Vision Cape Blend 2005, Wine Spectator rated Meerlust Rubicon 2004 and very affordable Kanonkop Kadette.
Unique single varieties include Kanonkop Pinotage 2006, without any doubt one of the best wines in its class, and the best Pinot Noirs from South Africa: Bouchard Finlayson Galpin Peak Pinot Noir 2005 and Hamilton Russell Vineyards Pinot Noir 2006, which will perfectly match the fine dining at Onsea House.
Super premium white wines include Jordan Nine Yards Chardonnay 2007.
