New flight options to Kilimanjaro

Turkish Airlines launched on 5 December 2012 its maiden flight to Kilimanjaro from Istanbul via Kenya’s coastal city of Mombasa. The new route will make Turkish Airlines fly five times a week between the two destinations.
Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) is within Tanzania’s tourist destinations and only 40 minutes drive from Onsea House and Machweo in Arusha. By launching this direct flight to Istanbul, we expect an increase in overnight hotel bookings for clients after their arrival in Tanzania and dayrooms before their flight departure after midnight.
KIA serves more than 650, 000 passengers every year and the number has been going up with 15% on yearly basis.
Tourists from Europe and America will have another option to reach Tanzania’s northern tourism circuit as the Istanbul hub provides many opportunities to capitals and big cities around the world.

For travellers who live close to Schiphol (AMS), KLM offers convenience at its best. Effective December 27, 2012 until March 30, 2013 KLM will operate non- stop Amsterdam – Kilimanjaro – Amsterdam twice weekly. The flight will depart Kilimanjaro on Fridays and Sundays at 01:25 to arrive Amsterdam same day at 08:40.
Departure from Amsterdam will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 13:10 arriving Kilimanjaro same day at 23:35. In addition, the already existing daily flight from Kilimanjaro via Dar es salaam to Amsterdam will continue to operate every day. That means nine total weekly flights into / out of Kilimanjaro!
Make your travel easier, smoother and more time efficient. Check out the list of attractive destinations we have selected for you and book now until December 15, 2012 for travel until May 15, 2013.

Other international flights arriving in KIA include Qatar Airways via Doha, Ethiopian Airlines via Addis Abeba and charters from Condor from Frankfurt and Edelweiss Air from Zürich.

Roman Abramovich chooses for Onsea House catering on the Kilimanjaro

Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, who is better known in Tanzania as the owner of the popular English Premier league Club Chelsea, is in the country for a visit. No wonder that his arrival on Wednesday has stirred the north of the country, which is home to some of the best tourist attractions in the world. During his 10-day tour, Mr. Abramovich will attempt to scale Mount Kilimanjaro.

Roman Abramovich is one of the wealthiest people in the world. During his stay, the international spotlight will certainly be on Tanzania, and that’s good news for tourism, reports The Citizen.

The owner of Chelsea FC arrived with six friends and staff on his private Boeing 767 before embarking on the gruelling ascent. Although Onsea House was fully booked for accommodation at the time of booking, the entourage of Roman Abramovich chose Onsea House to cater the dinner on the night before the ascent and during the climb.

Karibu Travel & Tourism Fair opens during Sullivan Summit in Arusha

The Karibu Fair opens his doors in Arusha on 5th June, while seven Heads of State from various African countries will join about 1,500 delegates in Arusha at the ongoing 8th Leon Sullivan Summit.

Because of the same timing as the Sullivan Summit, the Karibu Travel & Tourism trade fair - which is held annually in Arusha - expects this year an extra boost.

The accommodation at Onsea House in Arusha has been fully booked during these 2 events. The special culinary dinners on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th June were fully booked short after announcing.

Plans have therefore been changed slightly and instead of catering a reception at Karibu Fair, the Onsea House restaurant will host an extra culinary dinner on Saturday 7th of June.

Because of our very small operation, Onsea House will not participate to the Karibu Fair. Contact info@onseahouse.com if you want to meet or visit Onsea House Arusha during the upcomming days or visit our preferred partners at the Karibu Fair to learn about us: Asilia Lodges & Camps (stand number NW4), CCAfrica or Nomad Tanzania.
