Best South African wines on Premium Wine List

The arrival of the Villiera Monro Brut 2003, probably South Africa’s best Methode Cap Clasique and among the best bubbles in the world, marks the festive launch of the new Onsea House Premium Wine List.

Next to the premium wines from Boekenhoutskloof, their second label Porcupine Ridge and The Wolftrap, which we featured for the first time in Tanzania on a winelist, we expect a whole range of 90 and + rated wines by Wine Spectator and 4,5 to 5 stars in the John Platter South African Wine Guide 2009.

Top red blends include the 5 star Kaapzicht Steytler Vision Cape Blend 2005, Wine Spectator rated Meerlust Rubicon 2004 and very affordable Kanonkop Kadette.
Unique single varieties include Kanonkop Pinotage 2006, without any doubt one of the best wines in its class, and the best Pinot Noirs from South Africa: Bouchard Finlayson Galpin Peak Pinot Noir 2005 and Hamilton Russell Vineyards Pinot Noir 2006, which will perfectly match the fine dining at Onsea House.
Super premium white wines include Jordan Nine Yards Chardonnay 2007.

#1 in Popularity and Guest Satisfaction in Arusha

According to Wego, the Onsea House Country Inn & Guest Cottage is the # 1 hotel in both Popularity and Guest Satisfaction in Arusha.

What is Wego? In 3 words, Wego is a travel search engine. Think of Wego as a price comparison website that helps you find the perfect flight, hotel, or travel package for your specific needs. Instead of having to trawl through many different travel sites, Wego provides the information you need to find your perfect travel purchase, be it airline tickets to Phuket, a hotel room for 2 in Bangkok, or activities you can experience while in Tokyo, all on a single site: Wego.com.
Some of you may be familiar with the term travel meta-search engine, which better describes what Wego is.

It is with great pleasure that we see Onsea House confirmed as # 1, based on proprietary algorithm that includes guest satisfaction, user behaviour, property characteristics, seasonality and relative popularity across the web.

Bird Watching Paradise

Birders agree that Onsea House is a real Bird Watching Paradise. We invite guests to use our bird list to record those birds which you find around Onsea House. In fine weather you may see many of these from the balcony or around the gardens. The taxonomy and nomenclature follows that used in The Birds of East Africa by John Fanshawe and Terry Stevenson. This is available for reference in our guide book library on the balcony.

If you are interested in a day of bird watching, in the Arusha area or in Tarangire or Arusha National Park, then you can make an appointment with James the Birdman through info@onseahouse.com.
